| This is a simple salad topped with this roast beef. Beef Roast Bag of spring lettuce mix or fresh lettuce. thin sliced beef from the beef roast recipe Tomatoes Black Olives Pepperchines "sp?" Provolone Cheese any other toppings of choice. parmesan cheese freshly crushed black pepper If you're not using fresh lettuce, be sure to give the lettuce an chilled water soak, this will help remove the "bag" lettuce taste, however it wont remove it, it only helps. Soak it, remove it from the water and either spin it in a salad dryer or place the lettuce on a kitchen towel or paper towel and roll it up, once the lettuce is dry place it on a plate. top with whatever fixing you like. I used the toppings listed in the ingredient list. I went over kill with the tomatoes since I really enjoy tomatoes, if you want a more restaurant style looking salad, try to keep the toppings simple, 4 tomatoes 3-4 black olives, 2 peppers, some cheese and meat. if you add too much of anything it will make the dish look too over done (like my tomatoes in the pictures) If you like add some fresh grated parmesan cheese and crushed pepper on top. Serve this salad with a dressing of choice. I built myself an asian style dressing that goes something like this. 1/2 TBS Mirin rice vinegar very small dash of dark soy for color about 1/2 tsp worth of fresh ground ginger (I used a micro grater to turn it into tiny zest like pieces.) then SLOWLY add (while wisking) sesame oil to taste. Add a little bit, and do a finger test, keep adding it till its where you like. you'll have more sesame oil then vinegar to give you an idea of a starting point. |
