Default Good red wines for beginners

Over the last year ive been trying to switch over from the mellow white wines to a nice red that isnt to bitter or acidic. So far my favorite is Red Bicyclette Syrah. Its not to expensive either, like under 10 bucks. Its a nice sipping wine and its got a mild sweet fruity taste. If you have any other suggestions for a good red to start out with please let me know!

I have always had a soft spot for Ruffino Chianti. The reserve is excellent.
