| If you are looking to try something new in the way of a red wine, you could do a lot worse than trying a Malbec. Robert Parker has stated that this may be the grape to rival the popularity of Cabernet Sauvignon. Originally grown extensively in France it is now less popular there due it's sensitivity to frost. It found a new home in Argentina where it thrived and is now the most commonly planted red. It falls somewhere between Merlot and Cabernet in it's robustness with rich purple/red color and a noticeable plummy taste. The Alamos version from Bodega Catena Zapata should be easy to find and is a nice example of this grape. If you try it, let us know what you think. http://www.catenawines.com/eng/wines...s-mb-2005.html Please register or log in to remove this ad and the ads attached to all the pictures |
