Default My first try at bread outside the machine

Other then when I was a kid making bread in a bread machine, I've never made bread before.

I'm doing some research on making up a good potato bread recipe and this is my first try.

This bread turned out very fluffy and has a very nice taste to it. I used dried potatoes (the instant mashed potato stuff) next time around I'm going to cut back on the water and use fresh cooked potatoes.

I'm very happy with this came out, if the fresh potatoes don't do well I'm going back to this recipe and I'll post it up with a full how to guide.

yummy!

Will you bake or boil your potatoes?
I think baked will be better.

I was thinking of preserving the starch, but if you're going to use the water, then ....

I don't know if you would need any added starch unless you used normal AP flour.

HMMmmmmm I bet if you didn't have any bread flour you could do something like that to add in a bit more stretchiness to the dough.

I might have to test that out one day.
