Default Banana Fosters

Here's a dish that other then plating is super easy to do.

Here's what you'll need.

serves 2 people.

1/2 stick butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/8th-1/4 cup rum (depends on how much you like rum, I use about 1/4 cup give or take.)
2 ripe bananas, cut into quarters. (see pictures)

Place the 1/2 stick of butter in a nonstick pan.
Add the 1/4 cup brown sugar and heat it over med to med-high heat. about 6-7 on my stove.
Once the sugar is nice and caramelized, you can add your quartered bananas.
Using what ever tool you have laying around, check the bottoms of the bananas, when they're nice and brown you can flip them.
again cook them till they're nice and brown. how long? I have no idea just check when you think they're done.
Once the bananas are browned to your liking, add the rum. Check to make sure you don't have anything right over top of your cook area. if so just pick the pan up and hold it in mid air. At this point use a lighting device, (torch is my choice weapon) and light the rum. If its nice and hot the rum will burn off nicely=) Once the flame goes out you can plate your bananas.

In my case I had 2 servings worth for 1 person. so I just layered a bowl with bananas, ice cream, bananas, ice cream, and bananas.
too bad once I took the picture of it all the ice cream melted.

I do have to say, it was one of the best dessert soups I've ever had :D

Normally I would scoop some ice cream onto a plate and lay the bananas over top it. if you work fast enough you can enjoy the ice cream before it melts.

I love bananas foster.

When I make it I add a little nutmeg and perhaps some orange zest at the very end for a little variety. Adds a nice touch.
