Default Simple Syrup

Basic Simple Syrup

1 part water
1 part sugar


place both in a pot stir and bring to a boil, remove from heat, let cool, then place in a squeeze bottle.

Coffee Simple Syrup

8 oz water
8 oz sugar
1 TBS coffee grounds.


bring the water and sugar to a boil, remove from heat, add the coffee grounds and then cover with a lid, let the coffee brew for 5+ minutes depending on how strong you want it. (give it a taste) if you're happy with the taste, filter the simple sugar using cheese cloth or a wire mesh strainer, to remove the coffee grounds then pour syrup in a squeeze bottle.

Liquor flavored simple syrup

8 oz water
8 oz sugar
1 TBS liquor of choice

Liqueur flavored simple syrup

8 oz water
8 oz sugar
2 TBS liqueur of choice.


Weight can be measured in liquid weight or dry weight.

If you let it sit in the fridge long enough, you wind up with rock candy. It would help if I had thought about that and stuck a string in or something, haha.
