WD40 has a high smoke point.....

I guess this question is pretty open. Is red better then blue or green better then...

I would use 1 of 2 oils.

Peanut
Canola oil

I would use butter mainly, with a little Extra virgin olive oil.

But I use olive oil every chance I get...

WD40 is such a multi-purpose tool! :P

Great for Bandit chains or cooking home fries! LOL!

Nice job Jeff, SMF is the way to go.

clarified butter is a delicious way to fry shyte, but if you care about your heart, go with peanut or olive. peanut oil has a higher smoke point than olive oil, and i think you can actually deep fry w/ it too... but i ain't no chef.

i could make the joke about 15w50 but i wont.

Peanut oil is a very common deep fry oil.

Just ask http://www.chick-fil-a.com/ the use nothing but 100% peanut oil.

I thought they stopped using it due to peanut allergies being so common. *shrug*

I would use canola (or rapeseed depending on where you are from) as a frying oil- olive oil breaks down too quickly to use to fry potatos. On the other hand, if you are going to bake your fries, a drizzle of olive oil and some herbs are just the trick.

I don't think they will ever stop using it since it's a big part of their history.
According to them it's what makes their chicken so great.

I do believe the main reason why people dont use olive oil for deep frying is because of the cost.
1 PT olive oil cost about the same as a gallon of Canola oil.

Yeah i only tend to bust out the olive oil when im going to lightly fry something like a breadless chicken or fish since its normaly not to heavy like canola oil can be.
