Default Particularity with food?

I get grumpy when the food is warm.. I need to have it hot. Often times I find myself attempting to finish my meal before it cools.. With restaurants, I often base my a good portion of my judgement on how hot the food is served. My tipping is largely base on that too :)

Working in the food field, I almost never have time to eat food when its hot. I'll make something and then get side tracked and let it sit for 10-20-30-40 minutes before I can get to it.

As far as basing your tip on how hot the food is, that's not that fair to the server. 90% of your time if your food isnt hot it's because the kitchen had bad timing on the food. I have close to 7 years of waiting tables under my belt.

If the server was friendly to you, taken your order right, asked how everything was, removed any dirty plates and kept your drinks filled. If your food comes out only warm you shouldnt lower your tip, you should ask to see the manager. Let the manager know that the service was great but you would have liked your food to of been hot.

Chances are the server was sitting at the pick up window with half of your order in hand waiting for the other half that for some reason or another wasnt made on time.

Trust me time and time again I've sent food back and told my kitchen to remake it since they sent it out way to early. I HATE when I get half of my order 5 minutes before the other half. and it happens way to often if the manager isnt on top of things.

I can't push enough to see a manager if something isnt right. Managers need to know so they can fix the problem. If you don't it just happens over and over again.

I often hear stories about how people get pissed at the server and stiff them. if anyone is ever going to stiff a server please make a point to tell a manager why it is you didnt leave them a tip.

I pretty much agree. If the service makes up for it, then it's all good. but if I'm going to spend close to a $100, it will take a toll, somewhat, no matter who's fault it is.
