Default I guess it's all or nothing

It seems everyone has an opinion, but nobody is voting on it.
Only two votes - one is always and mine is never, but let me explain:

I have an aversion to tasting metal.
I do not drink soda or beer out of a can.
The only exception is draft beer out of a stainless steel keg because SS has no taste.
Aluminium and tin taste horrible to me and I can't even get the can to my mouth before I smell/taste the can.

With that said, all my canned veggies come in enamelled cans - those cans painted white on the inside.

I also agree with Jeff in that a lot of the nutrients are in the water that is canned with the veggies.

Yes, fresh is best, frozen is good, but there is nothing wrong with canned except for the texture.

Just my $.02

Key word there is: #@$#@ which equates to bad texture.

bad everything, from taste (unless its corn) to nutrients. I bought some canned stuff when I first moved out on my own, I STILL have that crap in my pantry. =) Frozen veggies FTW (if fresh is out of the question)

of course I forgot the camera... lol... But I made some KILLER HummusEsk dip...

1 Can Garbanzo Beans (Rinsed Of course)
3-4 TBSP EVOO
1Tbsp Minced Garlic (I used canned, i know i know but its easy)
Newmans Own Raspberry & Walnut Vinagrette Dressing

Puree together in food processor (I used a handheld one), add as much dressing as you like for taste/consistancy... Chill until ready to serve...

I have to say... I normally do not like hummus... But the Raspberry vinagrette... wow... I keep going back to the fridge... I'm gonna make this all week long for lunch... :)
