| 1 lb of ground round 1 lb of ground pork 4 lbs of lean round steak 14 oz . of chicken broth {home made is best} 14 oz . of beef broth {ditto} 1 well rounded tbsp of cumin {cominos} 6 tbsp of good chili powder {or make your own } 3 or 4 green chili's canned or fresh diced 1 large sweet onion diced 1 large green pepper diced 1 cup of flour put your broth in a crock or pot add all the seasonings and veggies brown the ground beef and pork cut up the round steak cubed and toss it in with the flour coat it well and then brown it as well . toss it in the pot and leave it alone on low heat {light simmer} stir occasionally . this is a hearty very tasty chili and it is always better the next day ;) Please register or log in to remove this ad and the ads attached to all the pictures |

Come on Jeff, you know real Texans don't eat beans in their Chiii... I lived in TX for 30 years and I'd have to say the most popular is beef and diced tomatos-extra spicy... I'm real fond of the beef Chili and bbq smoke houses in the hill country - central Texas... Texas has pretty darn good beef, not the best in the US, but darn good.
