| What do you guy's use to take away the gamey flavors ? as in a marinate ? I will use simple things like orange juice for venison and elk . red wine seems to work well with bear roasts . and tomato based sauces really work nice with rabbit and poultry type wild meats ;) Please register or log in to remove this ad and the ads attached to all the picturesLast edited by updragracer; 01-10-2007 at 11:46 PM. | I've yet to cook any deer or other game meats, I've ate a lot of it growing up but it was always cooked by someone else. From what I figured, and found on the internet. The game taste is lighter or stronger depending on the age of the meat. If the meat is older try soaking it in milk, butter milk, or a water/salt/sugar brine. for at least 12 hours. If you send me some meat I'll test all 3 options out. =) |
