Dog is the other white meat!! lol- kidding. Having lived in Thailand for a bit, I have had some interesting foods. Hanging out at the bars, people use to go around selling insects all the time. they were pan fried in a wok and quite good. I have eaten Scorpion, ants, grasshoopers, and crickets. My favorite were the grasshoppers. Turtle soup is another one that is quite tasty.

My brother has been to a lot of Asian countries and just last week he was talking about how grasshoopers tasted pretty good.

Living in Thailand have you ever had that "egg" =)

Well, I have a huge population of squirrels in my yard.
My 9 400 year old oak trees probably have a lot to do with it.
So, I've decided to trap, kill, and eat them.
My dilemma is how to kill them quickly while they are in a Havahart trap.
I don't dare to use anything else to trap them with because there are a lot of neighborhood cats around.
I already caught a possum, but I let him go because I wasn't prepared to deal with him at the time.

One other question, how do I cook them?
Do I brine them before or after I freeze them or should they be cooked fresh as I catch them?

Thanks in advance
Tai

BB gun at close range might do it. A .22 would certainly work if you're out of the city. Otherwise... put a wire noose in the cage before you set it up. That's a relatively humane way to do it. maybe attach a bell to the noose so you know when to check it.

Probably just cook them as if they were rabbit and you'll do fine.
